Teachers of the Boulder Tango Festival 2016

Mariano "Chicho" Frúmboli  & Juana Sepulveda

Mariano Frúmboli, also known as Chicho, has undoubtedly played the main role in the creative evolution of tango in the last 10 years. He is renowned worldwide as one of the founders and initiators of Tango Nuevo. He is famous for his personality, musicality and creativity. A true representative of the “New Generation,” Chicho brings all his talent and freshness to the dance. He teaches with love and talent, combined with a profound understanding of the dance. His classes are a must for those just approaching the Nuevo Tango style, as well as for experienced dancers. Chicho’s work has been one of the biggest gifts that an artist could have given to any art form: the continuous questioning, the research, the quest for originality, and full-hearted creativity.

Juana Sepúlveda, is one of the youngest-born stars in the tango sky, she spans the entire range of expression from an innovative subtlety to a stunning manifestation of power in every movement, always matched by her unswerving musicality and pure sensuality.

Chicho & Juana are today perhaps the highest expression of the tango dance. The clarity, definition and strength of their presentations, the extremely delicate and perfect connection between them that powers and giants movement, rather than complicate it, and leads improvisation to exquisite levels, serves only to astonish the viewer forever.

Federico Naveira & Sabrina Masso

Federico Naveira was raised among the highest qualified dancers and teachers of Argentine tango, what made him one of the top exponents of the Argentine tango youth in Argentina and the rest of the world. At the age of 10—together with his sister Ariadna Naveira—he started to assist at the classes organized by his mother and dance instructor Olga Besio. This opportunity gave him a rich experience and prepared him as dance instructor, and since then he has never stopped dancing and teaching. Among the many events he was part of, we find the most important to include “Tangomagia” in Amsterdam, the C.I.T.A (International Congress of Argentine Tango), the Pulpo’s week, the International Argentine Tango Festival in La Plata, and the Tango Festivals organized by the City of Buenos Aires. In 2008, together with other young instructors and dancers, Federico has founded “Postango” dance studio, a platform that gave him a new advantage point in his career this time as organizer and director. From 2008 to 2011, participated as teacher and dancer in

very renowned international festivals: Nora's Tango Week, G & G's Tango Festival, Austin Spring Tango Festival, Berlin Tango Festival, Rosso Tango Festival, Ankara Tango Festival, Belgrade Tango Meeting , Istanbul Tango Festival, CITA, Festival Estilo Parque Patricios, etc. He is also one of the founders at Tango Generations Show Cast.

Sabrina Masso toured numerous venues in the world. She was part of companies like For Ever Tango, Tango Passion, O'tango and Tanguera among others, performing with great professionalism. Her vast experience and virtuosity made her also to be required to participate in numerous European festivals where she highlighted showing also her mastery of the dance track, showing skill and beauty with a taste for the traditional "walk" of tango and figures in close embrace. It is clearly established that Sabrina not only displays beauty, speed and quality, but also she is a versatile dancer that can walk the tango dance in many different ways without losing its essence. She joined the “Tango Generations” show in January 2012.

Federico & Sabrina dance together from 2012, and even when they are in the process of developing a new dance’ style, their outstanding quality at tango dancing has been required for exhibitions in practically all Milongas of Buenos Aires.
They also keep their activities as instructors in Buenos Aires and traveling all around the world

Donato Juarez & Carolina del Rivero

Carolina del Rivero started dancing at the age of 6, and throughout her career she has practiced different dancing techniques. She studied ballet at the world-famous Teatro Colon (the most renowned opera house in Latin America) and later Modern Dance at the famous “Taller de Danza Contemporanea del Teatro San Martin”. She discovered the tango in 1995, and since 2000 Carolina travels around the world giving workshops and exhibitions. She was part as a master teacher and dancer in the “Congreso Internacional de Tango Argentino” (C.I.T.A) -the world largest annual tango event that takes place in Buenos Aires every March- since 2001 until 2014.

Applying all her artistic knowledge from other dances, she brings to tango, style and elegance, as well as a profound understanding of the technique and dynamics of the dance, and also of the woman’s role in it. She is one of the most renowned master teachers and performers in the world of Argentine Tango.

Donato Juárez is one of the most talented of the new generation of tango dancers in Argentina. Musical, elegant, precise, driven, Donato teaches tango as he dances it: with energy, passion and sensitivity. From his hometown of Mar del Plata in Argentina, he has been part of a group of enthusiastic young dancers that has continued to tirelessly explore the intricacies of this dance. He has studied with many renowned teachers who were quick to notice his impressive technical skills.

Donato has been invited to international tango festivals in the United States, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, Europe (Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Finland), and Mexico and has performed in many theaters in Argentina. He has been invited to perform, with Cecilia Gonzalez, in the 2006, 2007

and 2008 International Argentine Tango Congresses (CITA) in Buenos Aires, since 2009 until 2014 he also was part as a master teacher with Carolina.

We can perfectly state that Carolina and Donato bring together through their dance union " technical and interpretive quality", where the musicality, the elegance and the precision of their dance demonstrate a strong originality.
They transmit as well sensitivity, energy and passion for the education of this dance, what makes them dancers and teachers of artistic talent, clearly perceived in the atmosphere of those that have the opportunity to see them.
